Where does as story begin?
Patty Maher is a story teller. Her photographs are snap shots in the middle of a story, depicting surreal, anonymous characters, designed to be everyone and someone, evoking familiarity and nostalgia; her paintings tell stories through the evolution of time, adding, subtracting, embossing, overlaying and revising. In her second solo exhibition at Abbozzo Gallery, Story, Patty Maher extends an invitation to all viewers to see her story unfold. A synthesis of the artist’s photography and painting practice, Story brings together three series The Salvage Mission, The Ghosts and Sand & Stone, accompanied by selected works.
