Built For Art Online: Nuit Blanche 2020

October 3, 2020 to October 4, 2020
Saturday, October 3, 7:00PM - Sunday, October 4, 7:00AM

Featuring galleries and artists of the 401 community for a 12-hour program of online installations, performances & talks, curated by William Huffman.

The 2020 edition of Nuit Blanche, Toronto’s free all-night contemporary art event, is reimagined and tailored to fit the moment, including Nuit Live, with expanded digital content and special virtual events.

Join us, as Built for Art, 401 Richmond’s annual Nuit Blanche program, also takes on a new and virtual form – embracing augmented reality and presenting a series of online engagements allowing viewers to experience the dynamic venue at a digital distance. Built for Art Online will showcase the diverse creativity of 401 tenants, and invited creators, with virtual access to a program of installations, performances and talks. As the notion of space, and spaces in between, takes a new emphasis – with the in-person eclipsed by the more mediated – Built for Art Online looks to new ways of collapsing the geography of art experiences. Artists and presenters, working in a range of media, will animate their onsite activities using the 401 YouTube Channel, giving access to the art and ideas that have made 401 Richmond an important cultural destination.

Programming includes:

Abbozzo Gallery | Emily DiCarlo | Jolene Euwes | Ben Johnston | Esmeralda Enrique Spanish Dance Company | Gallery 44 | imagineNATIVE | Inside Out | Gunilla Josephson with Lillian Ross-Millard | Mayfield Secondary School | Rob Nicholls | Open Studio | PH1 Studios | Marisha Pula | Donald Quan & Eaoh Argos | Red Head Gallery | Reel Asian | Ryerson Art Space Gallery | Trinity Square Video | Urbanspace Gallery | Vtape
